As we wrap up a busy and productive year, I want to take a moment to wish you and your loved ones a very Happy Holiday season.
Reflecting on the year, it has been a privilege to work alongside so many engaged residents, dedicated staff, and my council colleagues. The City’s budget process concluded with strong community input, and I have enjoyed connecting with residents at events across the ward and the city throughout the year.
This week we took part in the tour of the new Line 2 and 4 train system, and I am looking forward to seeing how these projects continue to benefit the city. Starting January 6th, Ottawa will be one of only three cities in Canada that provides train service to the airport, and the extension of Line 2 will bring more transit options to many new communities.
Please note, my office will close at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, December 20th, and will reopen on Monday, January 6th. During this time, we encourage you to contact 3-1-1 for any urgent and non-urgent City matters or to create a service request. You can reach 3-1-1 by telephone (311), or email at 311@ottawa.ca (please copy bayward@ottawa.ca for our awareness), or through the 3-1-1 website at City of Ottawa 3-1-1.
I hope you have a safe and restful holiday, and I look forward to the work we will tackle together in the new year. There’s much more to come!
