Investigation of Unknown Utilities in Byron Linear Park
Please be advised that yesterday, KEV notified the Rail Office Construction team that they are planning to begin an investigation on unknown underground utilities in Byron Linear Park in advance of tunnel excavations later this summer. At this point I have no details beyond the fact that this work will begin the week of June 15th and involve the excavation of a 2 metre trench (location not yet known), they will work in sections back-filling as they progress. My team tells me that the length of time for these investigations is largely dependent on how many abandoned utilities they find, as each one takes some time to trace, to confirm ownership and lastly confirm that it is no longer in service.
North of Highway 417, south of Leons – Work is progressing
On the Highway side, Kiewit-Eurovia-Vinci has been progressing with excavation of the lands north of the Highway, south of Leons. This work will now be moving eastward – south of the OC Transpo facility, and will occur 6 days a week: Monday to Saturday (including tomorrow). For the next couple weeks, hauling trucks will continue to use Queensview via the OC facility.
Residents on the south end of Connaught may note a presence or increase of daytime noise and some dust. (KEV does water daily to reduce the amount of dust in the air).
