The United Way will be selling individual reusable cloth masks at 10 transit stations from Monday, July 13, until Friday, July 17, from 6 am to 9 am each day. Volunteers from Ottawa Public Health will also be on-site to provide information on mask best practices. All United Way staff and OPH volunteers were provided with safety training and they will be required to wear masks and face shields. Later next week, the United Way may add additional dates should demand warrant it.
As part of the United Way East Ontario Facing Forward Initiative, all sale proceeds will be used to provide cloth masks to those who are unable to purchase them on their own. For more information on where residents in need can obtain a free mask, please visit UnitedWayEO.ca.
The masks will be sold by the United Way for $14.99 (tax included) at the following transit stations:
- O-Train stations:
- Rideau
- Parliament
- St-Laurent
- Blair
- Tunney’s Pasture
- Hurdman
- Transitway stations:
- Billings Bridge
- South Keys
- Place d’Orléans,
- Lincoln Fields
Payment options will include debit or credit cards only. Proceeds from your purchase will provide masks to those most in need during the pandemic.
