General Manager of OC Transpo, Renee Amilcar, will be making two presentations to the Transit Commission on Monday, March 18 at 9:30am. The first being an update on present service including recruitment of new drivers, technological upgrades to the system and statistics on overall performance. Many residents have contacted me with their concerns and we are constantly passing them on to OC Transpo to ask for improved serviced. Although I am not currently a member of the Transit Commission I am watching for new information on what is being done to ensure reliability for transit ridership.
The second presentation is on the Zero-Emission Bus Program (ZEB) where the commission will receive an update on OC Transpo’s electric buses. This initiative is an important part in the City’s Climate Change Master Plan and goal to reduce the GHG emissions of City operations by 100% by 2040.
