Ottawa – These upcoming projects will have the following impacts on Ottawa traffic:
Highway 417 –From Saturday, October 19 at 6 pm until Sunday, October 20 at 11 am, a section of Highway 417 will be closed in both directions between Bronson and Carling avenues to install the main span of the Harmer Avenue pedestrian bridge. Lane reductions will start on Saturday at 5 pm, followed by the full closure at 6 pm. The eastbound on-ramps to the highway will be closed at Carling, Parkdale and Maitland avenues. The westbound on-ramps to the highway will be closed at Bronson Avenue, Rochester Street, Parkdale Avenue, Lyon Street and O’Connor Street. Pretoria Bridge – On Sunday, October 20 from noon to 8 pm, Hawthorne Avenue will be closed to motorists between Colonel By Drive and Queen Elizabeth Drive for maintenance on Pretoria Bridge. Pedestrian access will be maintained during this closure.
Laurier Avenue Bridge – On Friday, October 18 at 10 am, motorists can expect traffic disruptions on Laurier Avenue between City Hall and Nicholas Street due to a protest. Motorists are advised to avoid travelling on the Laurier Avenue Bridge during the protest. Updates on the closure will be provided through the City’s traffic account on Twitter.
Update: Lees Avenue – The re-opening of the Lees Avenue on-ramp to Highway 417 eastbound has been rescheduled by the Ministry of Transportation of Ontario for Tuesday, October 22, weather permitting. The Nicholas Street on-ramp to Highway 417 eastbound will be closed from Monday, October 21 at 11 pm until Tuesday, October 22 at 5 am to accommodate the reopening.
