O-Train Line 2 – Starting on Sunday, May 3, O-Train Line 2, will close between Bayview and Greenboro stations, for construction of the Stage 2 O-Train expansion. During the closure, bus service will replace the train service and will stop at all O-Train Line 2 stations Bayview, Carling, Carleton, Mooney’s Bay, and Greenboro, as well as at South Keys, Walkley and Heron stations and at the intersection of Preston Street and Gladstone Avenue. Buses will operate at least every 15 minutes and more frequently as required to provide additional capacity and space for physical distancing among customers onboard. Bank Street canal bridge: The curb lanes in both the north and southbound directions on the Bank Street canal bridge have been converted to pedestrian walkways. The bridge will have one traffic lane and one pedestrian lane in each direction. This will stretch from Wilton Crescent on the north side to Echo Drive on the south side.
Longfields and Golflinks south drives roundabout – Starting Monday, April 27, motorists can expect intermittent lane reductions at the Longfields and Golflinks south drives roundabout through the summer, during peak and non-peak hours to build a single lane roundabout and for landscaping.
McIlraith Bridge – From Monday, April 27 until Thursday, April 30, the McIlraith Bridge between Main Street and Smythe Road will be reduced to one lane in each direction during off-peak hours for bridge rehabilitation work. One sidewalk will remain open for pedestrians. Cyclists will travel in single file with traffic when the cycling lane is closed.
Montreal Road – Beginning Monday, April 27, there will be lane reductions at the intersection of Montreal Road and Vanier Parkway for watermain work as part of the Montreal Road Revitalization project. The reductions will be in effect until Friday, May 15. In addition, there will be intermittent lane reductions along Montreal Road, between North River Road and Marier Avenue for the next week.
Queen Elizabeth Drive – Until Sunday April 26, Queen Elizabeth Driveway will close to motorists between Laurier and Fifth avenues from 8 am to 8 pm. Access for motorists to cross Queen Elizabeth Driveway at Pretoria Bridge and enter Pretoria Avenue will be maintained. Access for emergency vehicles and OC Transpo buses will be maintained. This closure is a pilot project that will be managed by the National Capital Commission to facilitate physical distancing for pedestrians. Residents are reminded to practice physical (social) distancing, avoid crowds, maintain a distance of two metres from those around you and stay home if you are feeling unwell.
Rideau Street – From Sunday, April 26 until the end of 2020, Rideau Street will close between Sussex Drive and Dalhousie Street to renew Rideau and William streets. Pedestrians crossings will be maintained, and signed detours will be in place. More information is available on ottawa.ca and octranspo.com.
