Ottawa – The following projects will impact Ottawa traffic:
Bank Street canal bridge – The curb lanes in both the northbound and southbound directions on the Bank Street canal bridge have been converted to pedestrian walkways. The bridge now has one traffic lane and one pedestrian lane in each direction, between Wilton Crescent and Echo Drive.
Colonel By Drive – Colonel By Drive southbound will close intermittently between Hawthorne Avenue and the Highway 417 overpass daily from 7 am to 5 pm until Friday, May 8. The closures will permit rehabilitation work on a portion of the Rideau Canal wall. Flag persons will be on site. More information is available on the Parks Canada webpage.
Eagleson Road – Eagleson Road southbound will be reduced to one lane between Michael Cowpland Drive and the Eagleson Place plaza for approximately 3 weeks, to replace a watermain. The Eagleson Place plaza parking lot entrance on Eagleson Road will be closed but can be accessed from Michael Cowpland Drive. Signage will be on site.
Hog’s Back Road – Hogs Back Road will close to motorist between Prince of Wales and Riverside drives starting Monday, May 4 until August and between Colonel By and Riverside drives until December for bridge repairs. Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained. A signed detour for motorist, pedestrians and cyclists will be in place. More information is available from Parks Canada.
March Road – March Road will close intermittently in both directions between Carling Avenue and Shirley Brook Drive starting Monday, May 4 for road rehabilitation. Work will be completed in July and access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained throughout this period.
Montreal Road – Lane reductions will remain in place at the intersection of Montreal Road and Vanier Parkway until Friday, May 15 for watermain work, as part of the Montreal Road Revitalization project. Left turns from Vanier Parkway onto Montreal Road are prohibited.
O-Train Line 1 – The O-Train Line 1 will close temporarily and be replaced by R1 bus service on Saturday, May 2 and Sunday, May 3, and again from Saturday, May 9 until Wednesday, May 13 to complete maintenance activities and work relating to issues that have impacted service. O-Train Line 2 – Starting on Sunday, May 3, O-Train Line 2, will close between Bayview and Greenboro stations for construction of the Stage 2 O-Train expansion. During the closure, bus service will replace the train service and will stop at all five O-Train Line 2 stations (Bayview, Carling, Carleton, Mooney’s Bay and Greenboro) as well as at South Keys, Walkley and Heron stations and at the intersection of Preston Street and Gladstone Avenue. Buses will operate at least every 15 minutes and more frequently as required to provide additional capacity and space for physical distancing among customers onboard. O-Train Line 2 will reopen when construction is complete. More information is available on octranspo.com
Queen Elizabeth Driveway – Queen Elizabeth Driveway will close daily to motorists between Laurier and Fifth avenues from 8 am to 8 pm until Sunday May 10, Access for motorists to cross Queen Elizabeth Driveway at Pretoria Bridge and enter Pretoria Avenue will be maintained. Access for emergency vehicles and OC Transpo buses will be maintained. This closure is a pilot project managed by the National Capital Commission to facilitate physical distancing.
