The Coldest Night of the Year (CNOY) is a covid-safe, family-friendly virtual walk that takes place across the City to raise money for charities serving people experiencing homelessness, hurt, and hunger.
I am participating in the Westboro 5k walk route on Saturday February 20th in support of Cornerstone Housing for Women.
The idea of people walking in the cold to try and understand what it might be like to experience homelessness isn’t unique. Charities across North America have been doing variations of this fundraiser for years. Established in 2011, CNOY merely took the concept and built on it for the benefit of many more charities.
2021 is the 10th anniversary of CNOY. If you would like to support me in helping raise funds I invite you to make your donation here. Or you can register to participate here.
My staff member Sue Garvey was the Executive Director of Cornerstone and was instrumental in establishing the Westboro Cornerstone residence. I hope you will join me in honouring her great work and continuing the legacy of helping homeless women in need.
