Canadians in every part of the country are joining together in a show of solidarity and support for all the things that we love about our Canada. A particular point of pride for Canadians is our wildlife and natural habitats. The 2025 City Nature Challenge is a simple, fun and family-friendly way to put your love of nature on full display — all while helping Canada compete against the world.
From April 25 to 28, over 700 cities in 64 countries will be participating in the event, which invites people around the world to make observations of every wild species they can find using the iNaturalist app. Nearly 40 Canadian cities big and small will be competing as participants across the country upload nature observations through iNaturalist Canada in a united effort to track as many different species as possible.
