Last Friday our office hosted a free St. Patrick’s Day skate for the community at the Belltown Dome Arena. We had such a great turn out! Many participants got right into the spirit of the St. Paddy’s Day theme by wearing green bow ties, four leaf clovers, and funny hats.
Thanks goes out to our City of Ottawa rink staff who helped my office coordinate the venue and for joining us to help keep our participants safe while on the ice. I also want to give a special shout out to Chris Osler at the Ottawa Outdoor Gear Library (OOGL) for proving us with extra hockey helmets and skates for those who needed them. OOGL is a community initiative that provides opportunities for individuals and groups to borrow equipment with as few barriers as possible. And finally, my team and I would like to thank everyone who came out to join us! It is always a pleasure to connect with you and your families face to face. We hope to make this an annual event.
