As the temperatures continue to fluctuate this winter, it’s important for us to address a crucial safety concern regarding ice forming on natural bodies of water in and around our community.
Despite the colder weather, the recent conditions have not been sufficient to ensure the safety of the ice forming on natural bodies of water. Please refrain from walking, skating, or engaging in any activities on the ice.
Attempting to venture onto insufficiently frozen water can lead to serious risks, including falling through the ice, cold-water immersion, and potential injury or loss of life. The unpredictable nature of ice formation requires us to exercise caution and patience. Please help spread the word especially to children and young adults, about the potential dangers of venturing onto icy surfaces prematurely. Additionally, keep an eye on pets and ensure they are kept away from such areas as well.
