KEV will soon be starting preparatory works in the area of the Holly Acres interchange, required in advance of future construction of the Holly Acres Rail Bridge (to be built south of the transitway, north of Highway 417). This preparatory work getting underway next week includes storm sewer utility relocations, and relocation of street light poles, followed up the removal of the median along Holly Acres Road.
Most of this work will occur during daytime hours 7:00am to 7:00pm, but some night and weekend work is required in order to reduce impacts to traffic.
Given the locations and distance from residents, and the nature of the work, major impacts are not anticipated. Once the median removal work gets started, lane reductions will be required for vehicles, and the sidewalk on the east side of the road will be detoured via the path on the west side of the road. But generally, all pedestrian, cycling, transit, and vehicular movements will be maintained.
WHEN: End of August 2020 through Fall 2020
