As part of the Stage 2 O-Train Light Rail Transit (LRT) project, the Transitway between Carling Avenue and Iris Street will be fully closed for a weekend, allowing for daytime and overnight work.
Closure of the Transitway; critical daytime and overnight work.
Friday, August 26, 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Monday, August 29, 2022
Building a retaining wall on the new split structure bridge, conflicts
with the operation of the Transitway. The most efficient solution requires a full weekend closure with an open cut of the Transitway to complete the necessary work and the restoration.
Work will be on the Transitway, just east of Henley Street in Connaught Park. The Transitway will be closed from Iris to Carling.
Noise and vibration from trucks and heavy equipment is expected.
Site lighting for overnight work will be required and crews will place and/or direct the light to mitigate impact on residents.
Pedestrian and cyclist mobility will not be impacted.
The construction work outlined in this notice is subject to change. Work may be delayed or extended due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
Accessibility is an important consideration for the Stage 2 LRT project. The Stage 2 team makes every effort to provide access through and around construction sites. If you require special accommodation, please contact email@example.com.
The safety of the public and workers is paramount, and we thank you for your patience during construction.
