Notice of Road Closure: Richmond Road westbound between New Orchard Avenue and Ancaster Avenue
As part of the Stage 2 O-Train Light Rail Transit (LRT) project, westbound Richmond Road between New Orchard Avenue and Ancaster Avenue will be fully closed to motor vehicle traffic. A detour will be in effect and local access will be maintained. All residents in the area will continue to have driveway access during this work.
What: Full closure of westbound Richmond Road between New Orchard Avenue and Ancaster Avenue.
When: Saturday, April 5 from 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM
Why: Relocation of temporary concrete barriers (TCBs) to provide the required work zone.
Where: Richmond Road between New Orchard Avenue and Ancaster Avenue.
Detour

Motorists wishing to travel westbound on Richmond Road will proceed south on Woodroffe Avenue to Carling Avenue. They will turn right onto Carling Avenue and continue westbound until reconnecting with Richmond Road.

Notice of Overnight Road Closure: Kichi Zìbì Mìkan from Island Park Drive to Parkdale Avenue
As part of the Stage 2 O-Train Light Rail Transit (LRT) project, the Kichi Zìbì Mìkan will be closed in both directions overnight from Island Park Drive to Parkdale Avenue.
What: Kichi Zìbì Mìkan will be closed overnight.
When: Sunday, April 6 from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. on Monday, April 7.
Why: Relocation of temporary concrete barriers (TCBs).
Where: Kichi Zìbì Mìkan between Island Park Drive and Parkdale Avenue.

Anticipated Impacts
Site lighting for overnight work may be required and crews will place and/or direct the light to mitigate impact on residents.

Stage 2 O-Train Light Rail Transit Project Notice of Night Work: Ward 7 (Light Maintenance and Storage Facility to Kichi Zibi Station)
As part of the Stage 2 O-Train Light Rail Transit (LRT) project, crews and equipment will be working overnight along the LRT alignment from the Light Maintenance and Storage Facility (LMSF) west of Moodie Drive to Kichi Zibi Station. Overnight work may also occur along the Kichi Zibi Mikan (KZM).
What: Night work is required along the LRT alignment from the LMSF to Kichi Zibi Station as work proceeds on bridges, structures, utilities, roads, stockpiles, berms, and the LRT guideway. Overnight activities may include excavation and hauling, backfilling, concrete pouring, utility installation, welding, grading, paving, fueling, equipment maintenance
and servicing, site housekeeping and snow clearing operations.
*Unless otherwise notified, rock breaking, and vacuum truck excavation is NOT
permitted overnight.
When: KEV anticipates that periodic night work will be required and ongoing throughout 2025. Night work will occur subject to a valid noise by-law exemption, in addition to daytime activities on weekdays and weekends.
Night Work: Monday to Saturday 10:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. to 9:00 a.m.
Sundays and Statutory holidays – will occur, as required, through June 2025.
Why: To complete critical project work that is time sensitive and/or required during off-peak hours.
Where: Along the LRT alignment from the Light Maintenance and Storage Facility (LMSF) to Kichi Zibi Station, and also along the KZM.



Anticipated Impacts
Noise and vibration from crews and heavy equipment can be expected.
All construction vehicles and equipment, working overnight will be equipped with broadband back-up alarms. Trucks use approved haul routes and workers and contractors park in designated parking areas. Street sweeping, and cleaning will be ongoing along truck routes and around construction zones.
Site lighting for overnight work is required to maintain safe working conditions for workers. The use of lights will be minimized where possible and special attention paid to ensure that it is not impacting nearby residences.
All pedestrian, cycling, bus, and vehicular movements will generally be maintained during construction, with some detours. Pedestrians and cyclists should use extra caution when localized detours are in place and adhere to all posted signage, when travelling to ensure safety, as patterns may have changed.
The construction work outlined in this notice is subject to change. Work may be delayed or extended due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

Notice of Weekend Road Closures: Sections of Richmond Road and Byron Avenue between New Orchard Avenue and Woodroffe Avenue, and southbound Woodroffe Avenue at Richmond Road
As part of the Stage 2 O-Train Light Rail Transit (LRT) project, sections of Richmond Road and Byron Avenue between New Orchard Avenue and Woodroffe Avenue, as well as southbound Woodroffe Avenue between Richmond Road and Knightsbridge Avenue will be closed to motor vehicle traffic while crews complete pothole repairs.
Detours will be in effect. Local access will be maintained and residents in the area will continue to have driveway access during this work.
What: Closure of sections of Richmond Road, Byron Avenue and southbound Woodroffe Avenue.
When: Within the project zone, pothole repairs will continue based on favourable weather and crew availability.
Why: Pothole repairs.
Where: Richmond Road and Byron Avenue between New Orchard Avenue and Woodroffe Avenue.
Woodroffe Avenue between Richmond Road and Knightsbridge Avenue.
Detour for Richmond Road and Byron Avenue

Motorists wishing to travel westbound on Richmond Road will proceed south on Woodroffe Avenue to Carling Avenue. They will turn right onto Carling Avenue and continue westbound until reaching Poulin Avenue, where they will turn right to reconnect with Richmond Road.
Detour for Woodroffe Avenue southbound

Motorists wishing to travel south on Woodroffe Avenue from eastbound Bryon Avenue will proceed east on Byron Avenue to Sherburne Avenue. They will turn right onto Sherbourne Avenue and continue southbound until reaching Saville Row, where they will turn right and continue westbound until connecting with Woodroffe Avenue.
Motorists wishing to travel south on Woodroffe Avenue from westbound Richmond Road will follow the detour signs to Byron Avenue and then proceed east on Byron Avenue to Sherbourne Avenue. They will then turn right onto Sherbourne Avenue and continue south until Saville Row. They will turn right on Saville Row and continue westbound until connecting with Woodroffe Avenue.
Anticipated Impacts
Motorists should adhere to detours, traffic control signage, posted speed limits, allow for added travel time and use extra caution when moving through active construction corridors as traffic patterns change.
