The City has conducted a site visit of the Speed Humps on Woodroffe Avenue, between Richmond Rd and Sir J. A. MacDonald Pkwy, to address resident concerns and gather information as may be needed.
The City has completed some pavement markings painted at each of the two Speed Humps to improve visibility on approach. They have also sent a Work Order to operations staff to install the appropriate permanent Warning signs for each location. In addition to signage that will be installed at each Speed Hump, a “Speed Hump Ahead” sign will be installed immediately north of Richmond Rd. for northbound traffic. The City will also install a second “Speed Hump Ahead” warning sign in advance of the hill on the approach to Sir J. A. MacDonald Pkwy.
In the event that it is not possible to install permanent Posts because of the ground being frozen, operations staff will install the requested signage on Temporary Stands. Should this be the case, the permanent posts would then be installed in Spring. The required worked is expected to be completed in the coming weeks.
