UPDATE May 16, 2020: The closure has been extended to Carling Ave.
The Sir John A. Macdonald Parkway westbound lanes are closed to motor vehicle traffic between Dominion Avenue Carling Ave. and Booth Street, on weekends from 8 am to 4 pm, from Saturday, May 16, 2020 to Sunday, May 31, 2020. The Victoria Day holiday on Monday, May 18, 2020, will also be included in this closure.
Barricades and signage are in place to help ensure the safety of users.
This pilot project provides residents the opportunity to get outdoors to exercise and get some fresh air, while practicing safe physical distancing. The following also applies:
- This section of the parkway should not become a drive-to destination, it should only be accessed by biking or walking.
- The parkway should be used as the NCC’s multi-use pathways are used, with the yellow centre line delineating direction; keep your right.
