Capital Pride 2021 will take place from Sunday, August 22 through Sunday, August 29. This year’s festival will feature both in-person and virtual events, with appearances by several City departments. To kick off Capital Pride, the City will hold a flag-raising and proclamation ceremony on Monday, August 23 at noon, at City Hall, 110 Laurier Avenue West. The City will also raise the Pride flag at the following locations for the week: – Mary Pitt building, 100 Constellation Drive OC Transpo Headquarters, – 1500 St. Laurent Boulevard Ottawa Police Service headquarters, – 474 Elgin Street Ottawa Paramedic Service headquarters, – 2465 Don Reid Drive Ottawa Fire Services headquarters, – 1443 Carling Avenue There will be an Indigiqueer and Two-Spirit led remembrance on Monday, August 23 at 8 pm at the Human Rights Monument. You can attend the flag raising and vigil in person or virtually by visiting the Capital Pride website and social media. The City will also be showing its pride and support for Ottawa’s 2SLGBTQQIA+ community with several departments participating in the virtual Pride parade on Sunday, August 29 at 2 pm.
