Did you know it is not permitted to shovel snow off of your property and into the road?
Doing so may result in a $615 fine under the Use and Care of Roads By-law.
In addition, it is the responsibility of the owner or tenant to ensure the property is kept clear of any ice or snow that may create an accident hazard.
Residents and contractors are reminded to not pile snow over or against hydrants when clearing pathways and driveways in the winter. Doing so may delay access in emergency situations and is against the City’s Water By-law.
