The City is preparing to start the cleaning and inspection associated with the sewer lining project. The cleaning and inspection on James Cummings Ave is currently scheduled for December 18 (weather permitting). As that date approaches, notices will be sent to the residents in the area.
The Cured-In-Place-Pipe (CIPP) sewer rehabilitation process generally involves installing a resin soaked felt liner inside existing pipes and having it cured in place using either steam, hot water or UV light. This process will extend the life of the host pipe without the inconveniences typically associated with open cut excavation work.
The design package is being prepared and should be tender-ready by spring with a planned construction award in the summer of 2020. The contractor will be given a full year to schedule their crews and complete the work for the various sites across the City. Schedule updates will be provided once the construction contract is awarded.
