October 15th, 2021 Update – Staff were out doing another round of rock harvesting. Looks good for now but the City expects that this will be an ongoing requirement.
On Thursday, June 17th, the City of Ottawa’s Parks and Rec Team organized a manual rock picking effort for Britannia Beach. Because mechanical sifting was not getting to some of the issues along the shoreline, they assembled a team of staff to undertake a blitz to manually remove as many of the rocks as possible. This effort lasted most of the day.
