Please provide a report on what the City of Ottawa is doing to explore alternatives such as Hot-In-Place recycled asphalt and micro surfacing to name a few. With the potential savings and extended surface life, these opportunities that we cannot afford to ignore.

Background
The City is committed to maintaining roads based on industry standards. To manage the extensive road network, we apply recognized industry practices and are continuously looking at ways to improve how roads are built and renewed.
The City of Ottawa maintains approximately 6,000 kilometres of roads, with a detailed inventory of all infrastructure assets, including roadways. A key challenge over the past decade has been to find enough funding to address infrastructure needs.
The City of Ottawa is a municipal leader in asset management practices, has a Comprehensive Asset Management (CAM) Program and practices long-range financial planning.
