For many school boards, next week is March Break. With the longer days and warmer weather, why not take time during the break to review road safety rules with your kids, grandkids or the children in your life in a fun and engaging way!
The Ottawa Safety Council offers many resources. In addition to their downloadable WalkSafe lessons plans for teachers, they also have numerous RoadSMARTS 4 Kids Resources, including word searches, a crossword as well as downloadable road safety activities you can do together, including:
- Plan a Safe Walking Route Activity
- Road Safety Scavenger Hunt
- DIY Mini-CycleSafe Bike Rodeo
- Dangers of Distraction Activity
The RoadSMARTS 4 Kids resources teach important road safety concepts, skills and awareness in an engaging way that everyone can get involved in (and learn from!).
Have fun and be road safe!
