Road closure extension notice, Henley Street and Alpine Avenue (extended to June 30, 2022)
Construction associated with portions of the underground work for the Queensway Terrace Storm Sewer Rehabilitation has been ongoing through the winter and will continue into the spring of 2022.
Part of this project includes replacing the trunk storm sewer on Henley Street, realigning the trunk storm and sanitary sewers on Alpine Avenue, south of Henley Street, and replacing the trunk storm sewer on Alpine Avenue towards Clarenda Street. After the underground work on Henley Street and Alpine Avenue is completed, the Contractor will begin reconstructing the roadway including reinstatement of curb, sidewalk, impacted driveways, and landscaping.
For the Contractor to safely perform this work, the closure of Henley Street from Connaught Avenue to Alpine Avenue and Alpine Avenue from Henley Street to Clarenda Street will be extended to Thursday, June 30, 2022.
What: Henley Street from Connaught Avenue to Alpine Avenue and Alpine Avenue from Henley Street to Clarenda Street will be closed. However, access to local vehicular, pedestrian and cycling traffic will be maintained unless otherwise indicated.
Why: This road closure is required to facilitate the replacement of the trunk storm sewer on Henley Street, to complete the remaining trunk sewer work on Alpine Avenue, and to reconstruct the roadway including reinstatement of curb, sidewalks, impacted driveways and landscaping.

The Contractor will take every precaution to minimize interruptions to the everyday life of your family and/or operation of your business, but, as you can appreciate, there may be some inconvenience during the course of the work, such as traffic delays, noise and dust. You may also feel vibrations due to heavy equipment operations. Vibrations from construction activities are quite common and rarely cause any problems.
