The event will include vehicles such as garbage trucks, snow plows, a rock truck, a road painting truck, a traffic signal display, a sidewalk sweeper, a hydraulic crane truck, and more. Operational and outreach staff will be on hand to share information and help eventgoers look at the trucks and equipment used by public works professionals. In addition, Sunday, June 2, is an Ottawa Titans gameday! Why not make a day of it and watch the game! We will have 100 tickets to the baseball game, which we will start giving out at noon for the 1 pm start.
This is a wonderful opportunity for people to get up close and personal with these impressive machines. This is a free event for kids and kids at heart to get a closer look at vehicles from the City’s Public Works and Infrastructure and Water Services departments and learn more about what these vehicles – and their operators! – do.
It’s also one of the ways that the City’s public works professionals are promoting the rewards of a future in public works, educating people on our everyday operations, and connecting with the communities we serve.
