Children’s Programs
- Babytime (0-18 Months): Stories, rhymes and songs for babies and a parent/caregiver

- Toddlertime (19-36 Months): Stories, rhymes and songs for toddlers and a parent/caregiver

- Family Storytimes: Stories, rhymes and songs for children and a parent/caregiver. Offered as a bilingual program on Thursdays and in English on Saturdays

- Homework Club: Come join our homework club and get help with reading, math, science, French, English, etc. Led by United for Literacy volunteers.

- Ages 6-12
- Lego Block Party: Create and build with Lego! Family program.
- January 19, February 16 & March 15from 4:00 – 5:00pm (Drop In)
- Ages 4-12 (4–6-year-olds require adult supervision)
- Family Literacy Day: Making clay with Barbara Reid (author and illustrator). Learn how Barbara Reid uses clay to create the illustrations in her books. We will provide the clay and tools for you to create your own illustrations. Recorded program in English.

- Ages 6-12
- PA Day Program – Crafternoon: Open-ended crafting time. We will supply the materials; you supply the imagination! Parents are responsible for supervision of children.

Teen Programs
- Teen Study Halls: Get ready for exams at the Carlingwood library! Bring your books and we’ll provide the snacks. Come as a group or enjoy some solo study time.

- Takes place in the Carlingwood Library Meeting Room
- Ages 13-17
- Teen Board Game Night: Are you undefeated at Uno? Amazing at Apples to Apples? Drop in for a night of board games at Carlingwood! We’ll provide the games and snacks for you, your friends, and any new friends you may make this evening.

- Teen Paint & Mocktail Night: Bring your creativity for an evening of painting and mocktails at Carlingwood! By following the provided video tutorial, you can create a masterpiece while enjoying some light refreshments.

- ‘Folk’ Song Circle: Sing your favourite soft pop songs from the 50’s-80’s, Celtic and other folk music!

- English Conversation Group: Practice your English language conversation skills and meet new friends in a relaxed and friendly environment.

- Carlingwood Adult Colouring Club: Colouring can have a calming effect on the mind and promote overall wellness. All supplies are provided, no experience required.

- Jigsaw Puzzle in the Library: Did you know that jigsaw puzzles can strength your short-term memory, enhance your eye-hand coordination and sharpen your observation skills? Drop in at the Carlingwood branch and stay a while for a relaxing time making jigsaw puzzles.

- Puzzle located on the 2nd floor in the Mystery Section
- Protecting Your PC: The average time it takes for an unprotected computer to be compromised after connecting to the Internet is under 15 minutes. Don’t let it be yours. Chris Taylor, President of the Ottawa PC Users’ Group will show you the simple steps you need to take to keep your PC from being hacked. And best of all, it can be done for free.

- Keeping Passwords Safe: We are told: don’t write down passwords; don’t reuse passwords; make passwords long and complex. Chris Taylor, President of the Ottawa PC Users’ Group will show how to use free software that stores all your usernames and passwords along with related information and protects them with a single, very strong password. It’s easy and free!

- Pinecrest-Queensway Employment Services Information Session: Are you looking for work? Unemployed or underemployed? Drop-in to meet one-on-one with an Employment Counsellor from the Pinecrest-Queensway Employment Services team.

- Takes place in the Carlingwood Library Meeting Room
- Effective Tax Strategies: Join a CPA professional to have a better understanding of Canada’s tax system and minimize the amount of tax you need to pay. Topics such as tax planning, reducing taxable income, tax credits, record keeping, and understanding basic tax law are covered.
