It was my privilege to give words of welcome at the 45th Annual General Meeting of Pinecrest-Queensway Community Health Centre (PQCHC) on Tuesday, September 10, 2024.
As I stated in my remarks, PQCHC has been a valuable partner with the City of Ottawa in working with vulnerable communities across Bay Ward. Most recently PQCHC has been helping newcomers at the newly opened Transitional Housing on Corkstown Road to find employment as well help the children as they integrate into new schools.
PQCHC, along with the Olde Forge Community Resource Centre, have been very actively involved with the Ambleside NORC (Naturally Occurring Retirement Community) Wellness Clinic which has brought health care to older adults. They have also been running a health clinic in a Ottawa Community Housing (OCH) building. I also want to thank the City of Ottawa Paramedic Services and Ottawa Public Health who have also been partners in bringing preventative health information to residents along side with PQCHC.
PQCHC also operates the Pathway to Education program that offers tutoring and guidance to OCH high school students to help them graduate and works closely with Ottawa Community Housing neighbourhoods by bringing community and social service resources to those in need at the many Community Houses across Bay Ward staffed by caring employees from PQCHC.
Much gets done when we work together! Happy birthday PQCHC!
