The Ottawa Police Service West Criminal Investigations Section has concluded its investigation into the finding of mutilated cats in the West end.
A 7th cat has been found deceased on June 21st at approximately 3:00pm near Woodroffe Avenue and Knoxdale Road.
A Necropsy was conducted on one of the deceased cats on June 24th at the University of Guelph Animal Health Laboratory in Kemptville and determined that the cause of death was a predatory attack, most likely by a Coyote. The analysis also pointed to similar findings with respect to the other cats.
The Ottawa Police Service would like to thank the public for multiple tips received during the investigation.
