The 2019-2022 City Strategic Plan outlines the key focus of Council for the next three years. It’s our roadmap for making Ottawa the best city it can be. These priorities balance current spending needs with Ottawa’s future growth, while ensuring our existing infrastructure remains in good working order.
The performance measures are currently being finalized and will be before each Standing Committee in March 2020. Once finalized, the 2019-2022 City Strategic Plan booklet will be updated with the final performance measures scorecard and will be made available to the public on ottawa.ca.
About thE Plan
The City of Ottawa develops and implements Term of Council priorities to ensure City programs and services address the diverse and changing needs of the community. These priorities are presented in the City’s Strategic Plan every four years with each new Term of Council.
The 2019–2022 City Strategic Plan is the key corporate planning document that defines what Council plans to accomplish over its four-year term. It contains the Term of Council Priorities, approved by Council on December 11, 2019.
The Mayor, Standing Committees and Transit Commission oversee the priorities on behalf of Council.
The City’s annual capital and operating budgets support Council-approved programs and initiatives outlined in the Term of Council priorities, while remaining flexible to respond to unforeseen developments, including changes to federal and provincial funding models, and significant weather events.
The priorities are centered around three themes: Our City, Our Service and Our People. Under these themes, there are seven strategic priorities, with outcomes and concrete actions.
