Now in its 15th year, OPERATION BIG TURKEY will be offering free Christmas Eve meals at 4 locations around Ottawa to anyone who would like to join!
All are welcome, and no reservations are required. Simply take a seat and celebrate the holidays as volunteers serve a made-from-scratch turkey dinner prepared by Algonquin College’s School of Hospitality and Tourism. A delicious vegetarian lasagna that contains no meat or dairy is also available for those with special dietary requirements.
On Tuesday, December 24th volunteers will welcome and feed guests at the following locations:
- Overbrook Community Centre, 33 Quill Street from 2:00 to 4:00 PM
- Carlington Recreation Centre, 1520 Caldwell Ave from 12:30 to 2:30 PM
- Ron Kolbus Lakeside Centre, 102 Greenview from 3:30 to 5:30 PM
- Jack Purcell Community Centre, 320 Jack Purcell Lane from 3:30 to 6:30 PM
Looking for Volunteers!
Are you looking to help out with Operation Big Turkey? Spread some cheer this year by accompanying an individual or group to one of our locations! Unfortunately, there are some members of our community who miss out on this wonderful meal because they need transportation or don’t want to go alone. Let’s change that this year! Make someone’s day extra special by bringing them out to Operation Big Turkey to share a great meal and conversation.
