OC Transpo Customer Service Centres are doing on-going hiring for several jobs in light of the launch of the O-Train Line 1. Please see below for the external job postings and a short description of the job.
O-Train Ambassador (Temporary employment prior to the launch of O-Train Line 1 and for several weeks after launch)
Job Description: O-Train Ambassadors will be stationed at O-Train Line 1 stations to provide friendly and knowledgeable customer service to the public. They may also assist with organization and facilitation of public outreach events for various groups throughout the city, and performs administrative and clerical activities in support of multi-modal transportation outreach initiative.
Customer Service Representative (Temporary and Permanent positions arise regularly)
Job Description: Working at the Customer Service Centres (Rideau Customer Service Centre, Belfast Customer Service Centre, Lincoln Fields Customer Service Centre, etc) to provide transit (conventional and para) customer services including:
- responding to customer enquiries, complaints and/or feedback and providing information through various channels, including but not limited to: telephone, in person, on-line, (web, social media) and in writing
- processing financial transactions for fare instruments and other products/services
- receiving and processing transportation requests and registration for Para Transpo service
Senior Customer Service Representative (Temporary and Permanent positions arise regularly)
Job Description: Working at the Customer Service Centres (Rideau Customer Service Centre, Belfast Customer Service Centre, Lincoln Fields Customer Service Centre, etc). Acts as the functional supervisor to Customer Service Representatives and ensures the provision of excellent customer service and the effectiveness of the work team.
Responsible for providing transit (conventional and para) customer services including:
- responding to escalated customer enquiries, complaints and/or feedback and providing information through various channels including but not limited to: telephone, in person, on-line, (web, social media) and in writing
- processing financial transactions for fare instruments and other products/services
- receiving and processing transportation requests and registration for Para Transpo service
In operating as functional supervisor, the incumbent executes the same functions as the Customer Service Representative.
