  New Intersection at Kristy’s (809 Richmond Road) at Richmond Road – Opening As part of the Stage 2 O-Train Light Rail Transit (LRT) project, Cleary Avenue will be closed to vehicles at Richmond Road. This is a long-term closure of Cleary Avenue and Richmond Road intersection. A new access road with a signalized intersection has been constructed from Richmond Road through Kristy’s to Cleary Avenue. The closure of Cleary Avenue and the opening of a new intersection at Kristy’s (809 Richmond Road) at Richmond Road, Monday, November 21 until end of 2024. The closure of Cleary Avenue is required to facilitate construction of the Cut and Cover Byron Tunnel, from Byron Linear Park to the Sir John A. Macdonald Parkway (SJAM), across Richmond Road. Cleary Avenue at Richmond Road. Anticipated Impacts A new access road with a signalized intersection has been constructed from Richmond Road through Kristy’s (809 Richmond Road) to Cleary Avenue. This road is an exclusive “Private Entrance” to the Unitarian Congregation and Unitarian House properties, the River Parkway Children’s Centre and 75 Cleary Avenue. This includes residents and approved visitors to these properties, as well as anyone attending the congregation or Children’s Centre, or conducting approved business access to the properties. Space has been created to allow trucks and service delivery vehicles, etc., to 75 Cleary to make a 3-point turn to return back along Cleary Avenue and through the new access road to Richmond Road. Motorists should adhere to detours, traffic control signage, posted speed limits, allow for added travel time and use extra caution when moving through active construction corridors as traffic patterns change. Snow clearing activities will be maintained. A temporary pathway has been constructed from Richmond Road along the private roadway and north of the overflow parking lot to connect to the multi-use pathway along the Sir John A. Macdonald Parkway (SJAM). Pedestrians and cyclists should use extra caution and adhere to posted signage to ensure safety. The construction work outlined in this notice is subject to change. Work may be delayed or extended due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances. Accessibility is an important consideration for the Stage 2 LRT project.
