Please be advised that KEV is granted a noise exemption to pursue subsurface utility engineering investigation. Test Pits are required to determine the exact horizontal and vertical coordinates of existing utilities. The primary reason for the exemption is due to permitted working hours, required lane shifts and closures impacting traffic, transit and controlled intersections.
This exemption request is for a number of weeks though the actual work is only expected for one night at each location. Based on their sequence, they anticipate that the work will take place over 5 nights.
The equipment and expected noise/vibrations during the works will be as follows:
- Hydro vacuum truck – noise from hydro-excavation, noise from idling (see attached supporting document for noise levels, less than 85 dB anticipated at typical points of reception)
- Backfill truck and backfilling activities – noise from dumping backfill material into pit, noise from idling (less than 85 dB)
- Jumping jack compactor – noise from compaction of backfill material, vibrations from compaction (less than 85 dB)
Start Date: March 14, 2020
Start Time each day: 18:30
End Time each day: 06:30
Duration: 4 weeks
The proposed work is expected to be completed in 6 nights total. Due to potential inclement weather, they require 4 weeks to ensure completion of the work.
