Staff have released the New Zoning By-law Draft 1, which will be presented to the Joint Meeting of Planning and Housing, and Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committees on Monday April 29, 2024. The report provides a detailed overview of the provisions in the draft Zoning By-law and explains how the new Zoning By-law implements Ottawa’s new Official Plan.
Over the next year and a half, three drafts of the new Zoning By-law will be released. Each iteration will build on the consultation and feedback of the previous version. The consultation period on the first draft will start in June 2024 and continue into the fall of 2024. Public consultations for the project will continue until Q4 2025 – so there will be ample opportunities to participate in the review.
Any residents who wish to make a delegation at the meeting Monday April 29th can do so either in person or virtually. Each delegate is given five minutes to provide their comments on the report.
If you would like to sign up to make a delegation you can reach out to Kelly Crozier, Committee Coordinator either by email: Kelly.Crozier@ottawa.ca or by phone: (613) 580-2424, ext. 16875.
The deadline to register by phone to speak or submit written comments or visual presentations is 4 pm on Friday, April 26, 2024, and the deadline to register to speak by email is 8:30 am on Monday, April 29, 2024.
