Since the beginning of February when we closed the sidewalk on the south side of Richmond west of 1190, we have had numerous inquiries about the potential of implementing a temporary bus stop on Richmond east of McEwen to assist resident with restricted mobility. I am happy to advise that after working with our colleagues at OC Transpo we were able to identify a location as a suitable candidate to accommodate the temporary bus stop. The new bus stop will be deployed by Monday, May 17th.
The stop will be located on the south side of Richmond, east of the McEwen intersection approximately 125m from the existing stop, please see graphics above. This would put the stop 150m closer than going to Hartleigh and 375m closer than taking the detour under the bridge.
Please note that this stop will only be in service for as long as the sidewalk is closed west of 1190 Richmond Rd.
