The Gender and Race Equity, Inclusion, Indigenous Relations and Social Development team has organized a virtual National Seniors Day 2024 event to celebrate and honour the tremendous contributions of Ottawa’s older adults and across Canada to value their experience, their wisdom, and their involvement in all aspects of our community. This year’s celebration will include a keynote speaker and a proclamation to recognize National Seniors Day.
The focus will be on raising awareness around ageism. The keynote speaker is a world-renowned anti-ageism activist and author who has spoken at venues that range from community centres, universities and even the TED Conference main stage. We are extremely excited to share that Ashton Applewhite, will be joining us as the keynote speaker during the celebration.
