Hi neighbour,
Hope you had a chance to enjoy some sunshine this week! It’s finally starting to feel like spring is just around the corner. I wanted to share some upcoming public information sessions happening in Bay Ward this month. I hope you can attend some of them, ask questions, and share ideas. One of the most rewarding parts of this job is getting to work with community members who are deeply invested in making their neighbourhoods better, so I always relish these opportunities.
Community Information Session: 500 & 508 Edgeworth Ave (Tuesday, March 10, 7:00 PM – 8:30 PM, Virtual)
Join me to learn more about an upcoming development planned for 500 & 508 Edgeworth Ave. The developers will present their plans, followed by a moderated Q & A with community members. Check out the event page for more information and to register.
Spring Open House: See what’s happening in Bay Ward! (Tuesday, March 24, 6 PM, Ron Kolbus Lakeside Centre, 102 Greenview Ave)
Visit our Spring Open House to meet me and my team in person, chat with local organizations and meet City service teams. The Stage 2 LRT team will present its 2026 lookahead and community update, followed by a short Q & A. Come meet your neighbours, discuss issues, and provide feedback to the City! Light refreshments will be served.
Richmond Road Renewal Public Information Session (March 31, 6 pm- 8 pm, Ron Kolbus Lakeside Centre, 102 Greenview Ave)
Stop by for this in-person public information session to learn more about planned improvements to the existing road surface, as well as pedestrian and cycling facilities along Richmond Road between Bayshore Drive and Pinecrest Road. The project also includes the design and construction of a fully protected intersection, including crossrides, at Grenon Avenue and Richmond Road. This has been a long time coming, and I’m looking forward to hearing from community members at the information session.
Update on Stage 2 Construction:
I want to extend my sincere thanks to everyone who has reached out to my office to share their concerns regarding the ongoing construction around Richmond and Byron related to the Stage 2 LRT West Extension, and the Richmond Road Complete Streets project. I share your frustration, and am working with senior management at OC Transpo, as well as the City Manager and the Mayor’s office to see if anything can be done to mitigate the impact of this significant closure on neighbouring residents and businesses. More information on upcoming closures is available in the Stage 2 Construction section below, including details on how the detours for the Byron and Woodroffe North closures connect. As always, please continue to share your questions and concerns with stage2@ottawa.ca, and keep my office in the loop as well (bayward@ottawa.ca).
Reminder: Parking in Bay Ward
My office regularly hears from residents frustrated with people not following general parking guidelines on their street. This is a gentle reminder for folks to follow all on-street parking regulations, pay attention to no parking and no stopping signs, and avoid blocking driveways. Let’s look out for one another!
