I was thrilled to welcome over 100 Bay Ward residents at our annual Spring Tea on Monday. We had a glorious afternoon at Ron Kolbus Lakeside Centre, looking out onto beautiful Britannia Beach. What a perfect way to welcome spring with friends and neighbours! Guests visited the information tables about local resources, enjoyed lunch, listened and danced to the popular entertainment of Robin Averill, and some lucky people went home with door prizes.
I want to thank our Community Partners who joined us to share information about their various City Departments and local organizations: MPP Chandra Pasma’s team, Ottawa Council on Aging, City of Ottawa Office of Emergency Management, Ottawa Public Health, Ottawa Public Library, Pinecrest Queensway Community Health Centre, Public Works, Rain Ready, Safer Roads Ottawa, Tea & Toast, The Olde Forge and Volunteer Ottawa. We are grateful for your important contribution to our community.
A special thanks to our generous community sponsors who provided some awesome door prizes for our draw: Biagio’s Kitchen & Catering, Bridgehead, Cora, Farm Boy, Flowers by Maggie, Kiki Barbershop, Loblaws Carlingwood, Metro Lincoln Fields, Mia’s Indian Cuisine, Saco Salon & Spa, Swiss Chalet, Tea and Toast. Your commitment to your local community is deeply appreciated.
And a big shout out to my team members, Mary, Sue and Sheila, for their work in pulling this wonderful event together for all of us.
On a personal note, the Spring Tea is one of my favourite ways to connect with the vibrant Bay Ward community and the many people I have come to know, work and enjoy being with as your City Councillor. I am happy to welcome spring along with you and look forward to a great summer in Bay Ward.
