It was an honour to co-host with Mayor Watson the City of Ottawa breakfast for International Women’s Day. I suggested that Councillors bring a young woman as their guest for this event. I’m happy to have had Hallom join me today. She is an international student from Ethiopia currently studying at Woodroffe High School.

The City’s Diversity and Inclusion team will host the internal learning event, themed “Balance for Better”. It is an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of all women and continue to address inequities as the City strives to create a gender-balanced and diverse workplace.
