Motion Passed
It was a great week. City Council passed my motion calling on the Provincial Government to re-establish the funding that was cut from Legal Aid Ontario. These cuts will cause hardship for vulnerable City of Ottawa residents including Bay Ward and could result in increased costs to city social services. Thank you to our Bay Ward Volunteers
On Tuesday June 25th, I was delighted to have hosted Bay Ward’s Inaugural Volunteer Appreciation Evening. Mayor Jim Watson, who is also a resident of Bay Ward, and I thanked our volunteers for the commitment, time and energy that they have given and continue to give to our community. It is only with the assistance of Bay Ward volunteers that we can rise to meet our challenges and make our neighbourhoods better places to live. I look forward to having this event every year.
This weekend neighbourhoods across Bay Ward, Ottawa and all of Canada will enjoy Canada Day celebrations thanks to all the volunteers who will come out and give of their time. Thank you.
I would like to wish everyone a very happy and fun Canada Day weekend. This national event would not be possible without the support of thousands of volunteers here in Ottawa and across the country. Have a great Canada Day weekend!
