Hello Bay Ward residents:
We had a record breaking accumulative snowfall for the month of January. As a result, it has been challenging for residents to find places to put the snow, and also manoeuvre through our streets by foot and/or vehicle. My office has stayed in close contact with our road crews as we work to resolve problem areas for walking and driving. I want to thank you for your patience in this unprecedented time.
This is also tough weather to wait for a bus. I am hearing loud and clear on your concerns of our bus routes with delays particularly on Route 87, and other routes as well. As we transition to a new LRT system, I want to ensure that local routes are not left behind. As a member of Transit Committee, I will also continue to raise the concerns on delays and also the Route 11 cuts that happened under the previous council.
At my upcoming Ward Council meeting on Thursday, February 7 at 7pm in the Woodroffe High School library we will be discussing Traffic Calming and Safety Issues. Our local community officer, Jeff Kostuch, will attend along with the City of Ottawa Director of Traffic Services, Phillip Landry. Please submit questions at the beginning of the meeting to help address as many issues as possible. As always I look forward to seeing you in Bay Ward.
