Meals on Wheels Ottawa are working diligently to ensure the continuity of their service to provide nutritious meals and a caring contact to seniors and adults with disabilities to help them remain healthy and independent in their own homes.
With the ongoing pandemic, their support service has become even more essential for their clients, many who live alone and have become more isolated and homebound. Despite the incredible challenges they have faced since COVID hit, that have not stopped their service. The generosity of volunteers and other supporters in the community have allowed them to safely deliver 72,235 hot and frozen meals to 1,236 clients.
Meals on Wheels continues to adjust and adapt to new and changing protocols for the health and safety of everyone in the community and to ensure they meet the needs of those they serve.
On December 10th, they have embarked on their holiday fundraising campaign to help raise funds to support their essential service.
