As part of the continuing west LRT Stage 2 development, Hydro Ottawa will be completing a project involving the installation of duct structures and manholes to supply the Light Rail Transit (LRT) Stage 2 located at the Bayshore LRT Station. This work is necessary to maintain the reliability of the electrical distribution system in this area and provide increased capacity to meet the LRT Stage 2 requirements.
Starting on May 17, 2021, work will be completed on Woodbridge Crescent (at the OC Transpo entrance of Bayshore station to Bayshore Drive) and has an estimated completion date of June 25, 2021.
Understanding that this is a sensitive time with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, with many residents working from home, we recognize that any construction activities can be very disruptive. Residents may notice increased construction presence throughout the project, including construction vehicles. Traffic control and lane reductions will be implemented throughout the project to ensure that roads and driveways remain safe and accessible to residents and staff.
There are no planned power outages expected for the duration of this project.
Overall, this work includes:
- The installation of approximately 450m of duct structure;
- The installation of three (3) new manholes to supply power to the LRT; and
- The maintenance of overhead and underground cables to service homes in the area.
