This weekend, work in the Byron Linear Park will be restricted to the 13-day Woodroffe closure.
This weekend will include work to strip forms, backfill behind the abutments and prepare utilities prior to bridge erection. In greater detail, the day shift operations are listed below.
Saturday Day Shift – Parkway Woodroffe bridge
- Operation: Move jersey barriers, install lock blocks, backfill behind south abutment, remove gas main supports
Resources: 3 Operators, 5 Labourers, 9 formsetter laborers 2 x CAT 336, excavator, 2 x hydro vacs, 3 x haul trucks
Sunday Day Shift – Woodroffe bridge
- Operation: Hydrovac rogers, watermain and gas main, excavate remainder of fill between abutments
Resources: 3 Operators, 5 Labourers, 2 x CAT 336, 1 x excavator, 2 x hydro vacs, 3 x haul trucks
I happy to share that we expect minimal nightwork on Friday and Saturday nights.
Please Note: The steel for the bridge will be delivered after midnight on Sunday/Monday morning. Trucks will arrive and be staged along Byron Avenue from Woodroffe to New Orchard. Drivers will be asked to shut down and not idle on the street. This is expected to begin 6:00 am Monday and the steel erection will begin.
Carling will also see some weekend work with the backfilling of wet utilities and there will also be paving of a MUP in the field south of Carling.
