In July 2021, City Council approved the Lansdowne Park Partnership: Path to Sustainability and Next Steps report, directing staff to negotiate with the Ottawa Sports and Entertainment Group (OSEG) on a proposal to revitalize Lansdowne Park. The proposal aimed to demolish the existing north stadium stands and arena complex and build a new, world-class event centre and north stadium stands. This new public infrastructure will make the venues more accessible and sustainable, better positioning Lansdowne as an iconic, landmark. A new retail podium and additional residential units are also included within the proposal.
Due to the complex and confidential nature of negotiations, public consultations were deferred until Council made a decision on the concept and business plan.
Upon Council’s approval of the Lansdowne Park Partnership (LPP) 2.0 Concept Plan in May 2022, a robust engagement strategy was executed from March to September 2023, consulting residents and stakeholders through various platforms to gather opinions, ideas, and issues about the project, also known as Lansdowne 2.0.
Residents are invited to participate in the Lansdowne 2.0 Community Engagement Initiative | Engage Ottawa.
The survey is open until June 13. Following the closure of the survey, staff will compile the results and report back to Council via a memo.
