Great news for transit riders who are eligible for the Community Pass. OC Transpo is introducing an enhancement to the Community Pass application process, making it easier for customers to apply or renew their pass.
Effective August 18, customers are now able to complete their application remotely over the phone, eliminating the need to travel to a CSC as well as reducing line ups. The option to apply in person at a CSC will remain available at the Rideau Centre location.
This new process was accelerated in light of the COVID-19 pandemic in order to offer improved services to customers, reduce unnecessary travel and reduce the chance of lines or crowding at the Rideau Centre CSC.
The Community Pass provides discounted rates for Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP) beneficiaries. In order to apply for the Community Pass, customers have been required to submit their application in person at an OC Transpo remote Customer Service Centre (CSC) where they present the necessary documentation.
