Update August 2020 – Status of the Hydro One cable relocation project in Lincoln Fields
In February, Hydro One delivered notices to residents living on Rosewood Ave and Georgina Dr. to inform about Hydro One’s underground transmission cable relocation project planned for construction starting in March. This project was initiated to support the future Ottawa LRT project (Stage 2). However, as a result of COVID-19 and emerging issues, the construction start for this project has been delayed to this summer in August/September.
February 2020
In mid-March 2020, Hydro One will begin construction to relocate 300 metres of existing underground transmission cables in the Lincoln Fields area to accommodate for the future Stage 2 LRT project. The work involves a temporary closure of the pathway between Carling Avenue and Woodroffe High School. Pedestrians and cyclists using this section of the path can follow the detour plan shown on the back.
Signage and fencing will be installed near the construction zone in advance. It is anticipated that the work will be completed and the pathway reopened by August 2020.
