Community spirit supporting seniors
This week I had the privilege of joining members from The Olde Forge Community Centre, and the Woodpark, Whitehaven and Carlingwood Community Associations to drop off gifts to seniors living in our community. There were 173 seniors on the list this year who are from Carlingview Manor, New Orchard Lodge and clients of Olde Forge.
The Giving Tree initiative invites residents to choose a participating senior from an established list with the requested items they would like. These special gifts are dropped off before the holidays so that they have a little something special to open and brighten their day. I want to thank everyone who organized and participated to help spread the warmth and love of our community.
