At the request of residents, Councillor Kavanagh is considering installing speed cushions on Regina Street to improve safety, particularly for families and children accessing Regina Public School.
Regina Street is a two-way local road with sidewalks on the north side. It is not a truck or bus route, making it eligible for speed cushions.
Why Speed Cushions?
✅ Supports Safe Speeds: Regina Street has a 40 km/h speed limit, and speed cushions help ensure compliance.
✅ School Zone Priority: Regina Public School is located on this street, making traffic calming a priority.
✅ Future Growth: With new development at 2475 Regina Street, more residents will be using this area.
Proposed Traffic Calming Measures
📍 Phase One: Two speed cushions between Croydon Ave. and Assaly Rd.
📍 Phase Two: Three speed cushions between 2535 Regina St. and 2481 Regina St.
