Ottawa – Ottawa’s electric vehicle charging network is growing!
The City is planning to install 24 new on-street charging stations across Ottawa to increase the uptake of electric vehicles in Ottawa and improve street-parking facilities.
Switching from gas and diesel vehicles to electric is one of the most impactful actions we can take to meet Ottawa’s goal of reducing greenhouse-gas emissions by 100 per cent by 2050. Electric vehicles also benefit public health. They are quiet and have no tailpipe emissions, so they reduce both noise and air pollution.
The charging stations will be installed primarily in the area between the sidewalk and the street. They will provide more options to residents who may not be able to charge an electric vehicle at home.
