As we bid farewell to 2023 and embrace the possibilities that lie ahead in 2024, I am filled with gratitude for the privilege of serving Bay ward as your city councillor. In the coming months, my team and I will remain focused on addressing the issues that matter most to you.
There is much work ahead, both at the community level and across our city. This includes affordable housing. Housing is a fundamental right, and as the chair of Ottawa Community Housing (OCH) I am committed to working with City staff and OCH to address the challenges of affordable housing in our city. By working closely with stakeholders, developers, and community organizations, we can explore innovative solutions to make housing more accessible for everyone.
Safe and connected neighborhoods contribute to a higher quality of life for all residents. This is why my team and I will continue in our efforts working with residents and City staff to enhance pedestrian connectivity to create a more walkable and accessible environment.
My team and I will also continue to focus and dedicate time to working and collaborating with local community organizations, residents and City partners to find and implement effective strategies to enhance community engagement and safety in our neighborhood.
Your input is invaluable, and I encourage you to share your ideas and concerns as we work together. Engagement with residents and local partners is paramount for a thriving community and we look forward to collaborating with you in 2024.
Wishing you a very happy and healthy New Year ahead!
